EMD Introduces Glittering Pigments

EMD Chemicals, Inc., Hawthorne, NY, introduced Miraval KU 28, a new generation of glittering pigments that offer a wide range of color effects, according to company executives. Miraval is the first EMD pigment based on borosilicate platelets. The pure white mass tone and the minimal light dispersion lend high transparency to the pigment. The product line offers excellent effects at low concentrations even in opaque or semi-opaque systems such as elastomers, rubber or filled polymers, company executives said. The first introduction is Miraval Magic White KU 28, which combines silver-white glitter with a colorful rainbow highlight. KU 28 was developed with a stabilization against yellowing reactions with phenolic additives containing resin and polymer systems. It can be used in plastic extrusion as well as injection, blow- and roto-molding applications. More info: (888) 367-3275; Website: www.emdpigments.com.
